Clarke Group is an Auckland-based real estate development, investment and property management group, specialising in developing and managing medium-sized infill housing, and build-to-rent accommodation.
Established in 2012, Clarke Group has a background in predominantly build-to-rent investment property in Auckland, and has brought more than 500 tenancies and $100m of build-to-rent investment properties to market.
Clarke Group rents out many of their completed complexes out to the general public through Clarke Group Property Management (CGPM) – its property management division – and has also sold and leased numerous projects to various Community Housing Providers (CHPs), partnering with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.
Amongst other typologies, Clarke Group has specialist experience in a development model of build-to-rent fully-furnished accommodation. The model can be likened to an upmarket boarding house, that returns a significant and predictable yield to stakeholders, regardless of market cycles.
As a private developer that works closely with both the Government and private sectors, Clarke Group is focused on providing innovative solutions to the housing market, whilst fulfilling a critical socio-economic need that ultimately benefits the communities in which they’re developed.
Clarke Group currently has a strong forward-going pipeline of townhouse and apartment projects in Auckland, and is in the process of delivering these to both the private and public sectors.
Clarke Group has a small but dedicated team, focused on delivery. We outsource construction using reputable builders under the tried-and-tested NZS:3910 contractual arrangement. We use our subsidiary CGPM for property management, and outsource our sales to experienced agents. We stay focused on what we do best – delivering high quality, affordable housing.

Austen started his property development career in 2001. He oversees business operations, and manages project funding and stakeholder relationships.
Part of Clarke Group since its inception, Chris manages all aspects of project delivery, as well as overseeing the property management division.
